In order to keep things running smoothly and in an effort not to make a list of rules, there are a few guidelines in this game which should be kept in mind, most of which are pretty self explanatory.

When creating a character, keep in mind the location of the game. New York City would not be well suited as a home for several types of Supernatural creatures. Since the storyline currently runs only in a few locations, consider where your Supernatural character may live most comfortably. If your character cannot fit into one of the locations, your application will most likely not be approved. For example, a centaur wandering through downtown New York will probably not workout so well. If you can think of a good reason why your centaur would be in New York, present it in an application and it may be approved.

Consider the restrictions of your character type. Obviously, a mermaid will be restricted to water– unless this mermaid was created by some sort of curse. So, consider your options when creating a character and keep in mind the physical restrictions of that character or have an explanation as to why your character is not restricted.

Create characters which have dimensions. This means that you should strive to create characters which have more than a collection of positive traits. What makes people interesting is that we are a collection of flaws and strengths. No one is perfect and your characters shouldn’t be either. While it is possible for you to be more than one entity on the SRA entity list, remember that you are less likely to be approved if your character is not believable.

No canon characters from any media will be allowed. This means no Edward Cullen, Buffy, or Harry Potter. All characters must be original creations. You can write about a witch at a school for witches, but the similarities to Hogwarts should stop there. You can draw inspiration from others, but make the creation your own if you want to be approved.

You are welcome to inquire about creating locations outside of New York City and Area 51, but to encourage more localized play, those are the two current locations.
